Chance Heath is someone who doesn’t back down from a challenge.
Whether it’s leading product development at Stack Overflow or disappearing into the woods for a day of bowhunting, he thrives on tackling complex problems head-on. At Reframe, he’s jumping right into the biggest challenge of his career: building a product that’s poised to redefine how we interact with technology - and he’s loving every second of it.
The journey to Reframe wasn’t a calculated move for Chance; it was a gut feeling.
“I was drawn by the leadership of Tall Jeff,” he says with a grin, referencing Reframe’s CEO and Founder, Jeff Szczepanski. “And the size of the opportunity was just too exciting to pass up. I’ve always wanted to tackle a problem that felt impossible. This felt like the right place to do it, and the right team to learn from.”
Before Reframe, Chance was instrumental in developing Stack Overflow’s B2B SaaS product, “Teams.” For him, building something with tangible impact - something that genuinely made people’s lives easier - was what got him out of bed in the morning.
“I realized I’m most excited when I’m solving real-world problems,” he says. “Something that makes businesses stronger, that people want to buy because it actually works.”
That experience solidified his love for the intersection of business and product, and it’s what he’s bringing to the table at Reframe.
As Head of Product, Chance’s day-to-day is anything but routine. One moment he’s knee-deep in user interviews and building demos, the next he’s hashing out high-level strategy and product discussions.
“It’s dynamic, it’s chaotic at times, but that’s what I love about it,” he admits. “This is the hardest product challenge I’ve ever faced. But that’s exactly why it’s rewarding.”
For Chance, the appeal of Reframe lies in the problem we’re trying to solve - a world overwhelmed by technology.
“What excites me the most about the future of technology is our opportunity to author that story. I think there is a massive opportunity to improve our day-to-day lives with technology and I want to be a part of helping make that happen.”
That excitement fuels his passion for what Reframe is building - a platform that promises to put people back in control of their digital tools, not the other way around.
Even though mornings can be chaotic with three young kids, Chance makes it a point to be fully present. He knows how important it is to bring his whole self, and his time with family is non-negotiable.
“Being with my family sets me up for success at work,” he says simply.
That time together is the grounding force that keeps him centered. But when the day winds down, his happy place is somewhere deep in the woods, embracing the quiet, honing his archery skills or pushing his body with a hard hike.
“Bowhunting might not be what people expect, but it’s where I feel most connected to myself. There’s something about the precision and calm focus it demands.”
Fearlessness seems to be woven into everything Chance does, from dealing with complex tech challenges to traveling deep into the grizzly-occupied wild for bowhunting. He’s led teams, started his own side hustles, and approaches every situation with quiet confidence, subtle grace, and always a smile. Like Wolverine, he charges headfirst into the unknown, embracing the risks with a boldness that others might shy away from. With Chance, fearlessness isn’t just a trait - it’s how he lives and leads, whether in the office, at home, or in the outdoors.
And working at Reframe isn’t just about solving a tech problem. It’s about fundamentally improving how people work, how they interact with the flood of digital noise that surrounds them every day.
“We’re writing the future of how people will work. Reframe has the power to give people back control, to help them be the best and happiest versions of themselves.”
His journey with Reframe has been about challenging his own assumptions about technology, about work, and about what’s possible. And as Reframe continues to grow, Chance is looking ahead - not just to the next five years, but to a future where the product we’re building allows people to reclaim their time, their focus, and their lives.
Even if he wasn’t in tech, Chance still envisions himself chasing innovation in any era.
“If I were born in the late 1800s, I’d probably working on the railroads! Right now a lot of that change is happening in traditional technology.”
And yet, the most rewarding aspect of working at Reframe for Chance goes beyond being on the cutting edge of technology or building an innovative product - it’s about personal growth.
“I feel like working at Reframe has helped me become a better version of myself,” he reflects, acknowledging how tackling complex challenges has pushed him to evolve.
When asked what advice he’d give to someone looking to join a startup or innovative tech company, Chance is direct, “Think like an investor. What big change would you like to see in the world, and which company has the best shot at addressing it? Where would you put your money? Because your time is your most valuable asset.”
Looking back on his journey so far, Chance reflects, “My journey at Reframe has been an experience in challenging my deepest assumptions of how we work with computers.”
As Reframe moves closer to transforming the way we work - bringing it in line with how we naturally function - Chance is more energized than ever to push those boundaries and help shape the future of work.
